The sample showroom at the Zhuzhou workshop is open. It covers 380 m² and holds more than forty full-scale vignettes — not one of each SKU in a row, but the pieces arranged the way a room, a terrace or a suite actually uses them.
The point of a showroom next to a factory, rather than in a city centre, is that a buyer can walk from the sample to the machine that made it in under a minute. When a weave feels wrong or a table is 40 mm too low, the answer is a conversation with the sample maker, not an email to a sales office.
What is in it
- Forty-plus vignettes across dining, lounge, bedroom and outdoor, at full contract specification rather than showroom-light specification.
- Weave library — eighteen weaves by twelve colours on A5 boards, plus aged samples after QUV exposure so colour movement is visible side by side.
- Finish wall — twelve standard powders, six wood tones on ash, and the oil and lacquer options on the same board.
- Construction bench — cut sections of frame corners, cushion cores and carcass joints, which is usually the part buyers spend the longest on.
Visiting
Zhuzhou is about 20 minutes by car from Zhuzhou West station, which is roughly 2h15 from Guangzhou South and 3h from Shanghai Hongqiao. Visits are by appointment so that the relevant product people are on the floor: tell us the project type and the collections you want to see when you book, and we will pull the samples and the price list before you arrive. Half a day is enough to see the showroom and the workshop properly.
Buyers do not need another room full of furniture. They need to touch the material, stand next to the piece to judge the height, and then see where it is made. That is what this building is for.
To book a visit, email jacky@soonmao.com with your dates. If you are travelling for the Canton Fair, we run a shuttle from Zhuzhou West station on fair days.
